Within a 15-minute drive of our Van der Valk Hotel Groningen-Zuidbroek you can enjoy, for example, a cabaret, musical or theatre performance. After a delightful extensive breakfast buffet you can start the day energetically and head out to explore the surrounding area. The Kielzog Theater was founded to give amateur companies a stage. But nowadays nearly 70 professional performances are scheduled each season, such as Ernst Daniël Smid, Iris Kroes, Dribbel and Arno van der Heyden.

In The City Theatre Oosterpoort in Groningen are several performances, including Derek Ogilvie, Youp van 't Hek, Ali B, Paulien Cornelisse and Frank Sinatra.

Would you rather go to the movies? That's not a problem here. In Hoogezand you'll find a JT cinema, and in Groningen there is, among others, a Mustsee and a Pathé cinema. After a day in Groningen and the surrounding area it’s wonderful to relax for a while and be entertained by a selected film on the big screen.
