For some time now, Van der Valk Hotel Groningen – Zuidbroek A7 has been conscious of the environment, and this is noticeable in our daily operation.

We are proud to inform you that Van der Valk Hotel Groningen – Zuidbroek A7 has been awarded the Green Key certification: GOLD. The Green Key is the international sustainability label for companies in the tourism and recreation sector, and in the market for meeting and conference locations, that are seriously and verifiably engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Green Key guarantees the commitment of the accommodation to do everything possible to minimize the pressure of the business on nature and the environment. This includes careful management of energy, water, gas, and waste processing.

The criteria of the Green Key ensure that there is a good balance betweenSustainable entrepreneurship on one hand and comfort on the other hand.

To qualify for the Green Key, businesses must take measures related to environmental care and Corporate Social Responsibility. These measures are partly mandatory and partly optional. Green Key Netherlands has three levels of certification: Bronze, Silver, Gold.

The more optional measures an accommodation fulfills, the better the certification is. Our hotel has been certified with GOLD since August 2013 and is thus recognized as an accommodation with a visible policy for making our hotel, restaurant, and meeting product more sustainable. A wonderful and the highest achievable result. In both internal operations and the choice of suppliers, we carefully consider our social responsibility. As a classified accommodation, our hotel is continually working to further and even better develop and sustain our product.
