The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry

House Rules

In the following regulations, you will find the most important house rules that apply within our hotel. We kindly ask you to respect and accept these rules. A copy of the house rules is available for inspection at the reception.

General Rules

  • All instructions from hotel staff related to these house rules must be followed.
  • In case of fire, remain calm. Report the fire to the reception and/or activate the nearest fire alarm.
  • In the event of a general fire alarm, leave the building immediately.
  • Do not use the elevators in case of fire.
  • Upon check-in, a valid identification document must be presented. The minimum check-in age is 18 years. Both guests must be 18 years or older.
  • Security cameras are installed in various areas throughout the building. Anyone present in our hotel consents to being recorded. In case of emergencies or incidents, these recordings may be shown to third parties as supporting material.
  • Lost or found items must be handed in at the reception.
  • The hotel is not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.
  • The Management, owner of this location, and/or any person employed by the hotel cannot be held liable for any injury and/or material or immaterial damage suffered by visitors.
  • For hygiene reasons, your room must be cleaned daily.
  • Pets are only allowed in our brasserie and in designated pet-friendly rooms.

It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Use emergency exits as regular entrances or exits.
  • Remove hotel property from the premises. Intentional damage to hotel property will result in liability for repair and/or replacement costs.
  • Consume, use, trade, or possess drugs or narcotic substances.
  • Use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) balloons or bring nitrous oxide bottles or cartridges into the room. (In case of doubt, you may be asked to have your luggage inspected before entry.)
  • Cause disturbance to other guests, including but not limited to loud music, disorderly conduct, or noise of any kind.
  • Smoke anywhere in the building. If we determine that smoking has taken place, a cleaning fee of €250.00 will be charged. This also applies to tampering with or disabling smoke detectors.
  • Accommodate more persons in the room than the number of guests registered at check-in. All guests must present valid identification at the reception.
  • Receive visitors in the rooms.
  • Engage in any form of sexual commercial activity in the rooms.
  • Use open flames or candles anywhere in the hotel.

Suite Regulations

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire hotel. Violation of this rule will result in a €250.00 charge for additional cleaning and/or damages.
  • Lighting candles or incense is strictly forbidden due to the fire alarm system and fire hazard. (The security system will activate immediately.)
  • Certain decorations, such as balloons or confetti, are not allowed in hotel rooms. Please consult the reception if you are unsure whether your decorations are permitted. Any extra cleaning costs or technical damage resulting from this will be charged to the guest.
  • A maximum of two persons are allowed in this suite. If you wish to bring a baby, a baby cot can be provided for €14.50 per night. Children under 12 years are permitted only if accompanied by one adult, and the total number of persons in the room does not exceed two. Bringing children or babies is entirely at your own risk.
  • Check-out time for this suite is no later than 12:00 p.m., after which the room will be inspected.
  • Any damage, loss, or destruction of hotel property will result in immediate removal, liability for damages, and/or notification of the police.
  • A deposit of €250.00 applies to all suites. This must be paid upon check-in. The deposit will be refunded upon check-out, provided the suite is left in good condition.
  • A valid ID is required upon check-in.
  • The use, possession, or trade of any form of drugs or narcotic substances is strictly prohibited. In case of drug use or trade, hotel management will notify the police and may proceed with removal from the premises without refund.

Violation of House Rules

The above regulations apply to all guests of Hotel Groningen – Zuidbroek A7. You are required to comply with these rules. Any violation of the house rules may be immediately reported to the police and may result in denial of access to the hotel.

In the event of a violation of these house rules or any other form of undesirable or unlawful behavior, Hotel Groningen – Zuidbroek A7 reserves the right to place you on the Alert List for a certain period of time and/or, in case of a serious violation, to share your information with other Van der Valk hotels, where you may also be refused access. In case of placement on the Alert List, you will receive written notification.

As the registered booker of the room, you are responsible for the behavior of all accompanying guests. If a guest staying in a room booked by you violates the house rules or engages in undesirable or unlawful behavior, we may place you as the booker on the Alert List and hold you accountable for any resulting damage.*

In all situations not covered by these regulations, the hotel management will decide.
