Out and about with the children

In the area around our hotel, there are several places where children can have a great time.

Tenaxx Estate In Wedde: a large park with lifelike dinosaurs where you can go on hunts, simply view them, and learn about them. In the park you can enjoy walking, rowing, and take part in various activities for both the very young and the slightly older. Definitely worth a visit.

The Doe Museum In Veendam. Just as the name suggests, a museum where you can look at art and do all kinds of things, such as building things with LEGO, painting or spray‑painting graffiti, playing with, for example, pedal tractors and hopping balls, and for the very little ones there is a toddler area. For the "older children" there is the opportunity to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or lunch, and books and magazines are available.

Ballorig in Hoogezand and Monkeytown In Groningen, both are indoor play areas for the very youngest. They are also accessible to slightly older children, who can burn off their energy there.

Seal nursery Lauwersoog,Who doesn't know it? Here you can take a guided tour every day, wander around on your own and learn all kinds of things about seals. Recently there's also an outdoor park where you can enjoy a pleasant walk or sit quietly for a while.

Insect World Doezoo In Leens there is a zoo that has specialized in all kinds of insects and animals that eat insects. In the park you can not only see the animals, but there are regular opportunities to, for example, pet a skunk or hold a spider or a snake. There are also certain days of the week when children can, for example, cook insects.
